Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.

Perfect location for walking to our concert venue, and there are cool spots to stop at on the way. The house is lovely. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions with clear instructions. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Our stay was awesome. The house was very clean and had a really cool layout, especially the back porch/yard area. It's a little further walk from some of the attractions but it really wasn't bad at all. We had an issue with mosquitos in the house but the host was very responsive in a timely manner and made sure to send a technician over the next day to take care of the issue. Overall the house was a great experience, we just wish we could have stayed longer than two nights

Our group of 10 guys stayed here for a golf/surf weekend. Perfect spot, tons of walkable restaurants/amenities. House was exactly what we expected, pretty basic, but comfortable home base for a weekend of fun adventures.
Host was great, easy to communicate with, and instructions were perfect.
If you're expecting something newly remodeled, on a quiet street, or luxury, certainly look elsewhere, but if you're looking for something functional, flexible and can sleep a bunch of people a block from one of the busier party streets in the US, then this is perfect for you.

Our stay with John was wonderful! The house was really easy to find and was a block over from King Street which meant it was quiet but also walkable to tons of restaurants and bars. Lots of space so our group of 9 never felt cramped. The photos are little outdated as most of the furniture is either different or set up differently, but everything was comfortable and clean. Would definitely stay here again! 🙂

Awesome stay for our big bachelorette group! It rained for the majority of our trip, so we spent more time than expected at the house, and we still had the best time. Tons of super comfy beds, super walkable, and great pizza across the street. 10/10 would stay again!

Our stay at John’s place was great! We especially loved having the back patio to relax on after a day of walking around town. Although, you don’t have to walk far to find great food and drinks. During our stay we had brunch, dinner, and a night cap all within a block of the house. Chubby Fish (a place John recommended) was where we had dinner and we’re so glad he suggested it. We will definitely stay there again next time in Charleston!

We loved this charming historic home! It was beautiful. Easy walking to everything (we have four children- one of which is a toddler) so easy access to everything was a must for us. Would definitely recommend this house and definitely stay here again!

John was a great, responsive host. Perfect walkable location a stones throw from King Street and lots of shops, restaurants in between. We especially loved bfast and coffee at Island Provisons and the pizza and people at D’Allesandros. Super friendly at both places. We rented bikes from Bilda Bikes around the corner from John’s place and were thrilled with both the service and the quality of the bikes. Such a great way to see the beautiful city of Charleston. We enjoyed riding through the area South of Broad, the Battery etc in addition to Hampton Park, a beautiful, peaceful, well manicured park with both walking and biking lanes in the northern part of town. We ended up buying a bike from them!
It was great to have off street parking at the house. The front porch and back patio are great outdoor spaces. Some furniture on the front porch would enhance the beautiful space.

We did enjoy our stay. Charleston is very distinctive place. Walking tour was so informative as were the other activities we did.
Accommodations fit the age of the home. Thanks for the rolling cart to hang our clothes upstairs. We used the extra room upstairs for getting our faces ready for the day. Beds were comfy. The picture of the living area was from an earlier time as the furniture is now brown rather than a light color.
I mentioned the kitchen not because of the cleanliness of the room. Some of the cookware had to be scraped of harden food.
Your dishwashing and hand washing liquid soaps were & are in need of replenishing. (& in upstairs bath)
We really enjoyed our trip & stay in lovely Charleston. Glad we found your place.

Overall we had a great stay here. The location is really close to King Street and in walking distance of so many great coffee shops and restaurants. John was extremely responsive and helpful with any request we had. The house was clean and we had everything we needed - even when we ran out of toilet paper he sent some over right away. The only thing worth noting was that some of the rooms didn't match the photos (there was no large table outside and one of the couches was broken) but in the end it wasn't a big deal. Overall it suited our needs, we were comfortable, and everyone was happy. Would stay again!
