This Airbnb was in the heart of downtown Charleston within walking distance of everything! We stayed here with another couple and never used our car. The house is located on the top floor of a charming Charleston-style home. There are narrow stairs to maneuver, but totally manageable unless you have an issue with climbing stairs. The inside is decorated with antiques and comfortable furniture. The beds were very comfortable. We were so happy with this Airbnb and the owner was very easy to work with. A++

Location! Location! Location! If you are wanting a place in the historic district of Charleston in walkable distance of anything down there, this is the place. Our party of six had plenty of room to move around with a central location in the house to gather and visit.
The only issue we had is no fault to anyone, but an issue we had was with the driveway to get back to the parking area. Since there were six of us with luggage, we rented a Suburban. We had quite a bit of trouble turning into the drive (especially if there were vehicles in the spots on either side). We wouldn’t have needed the vehicle except for a few visits outside the city, and a super early flight home.
I would still 100% recommend this spot to anyone wanting to stay in this area; you just might want to rent a smaller vehicle.

A really nice place to stay to experience all of Charleston. Peaceful, private, clean, comfortable, and walking distance to so much. Our host was wonderful, very helpful and very responsive. Having the two parking spots off the street was priceless too.

Stayed at 77 Society and the location was awesome and off street parking was a huge plus! This is a wonderful old Charleston house with antiques and traditional decor. Loved that it wasn’t another Ikea-styled rental. A little pricey but better location than even many hotels so for our group it was worth it.

This place was amazing. We highly recommend it and hope we can stay again soon. Very clean and lots of room to spread out. Even though the house was so charming and represented everything Charleston and the owner was fantastic about communication (got back to us immediately about anything we asked), the location had to be the best part. Location is everything and it doesn’t get better than John’s apartment! You’re literally right in the middle of the action, but in an apartment that you don’t hear any noise at night.
This place is massive! Lots of room. I think you could easily fit over 12 people. And there’s everything you need in there including a well-stocked kitchen.
John the host is very kind and responsive, and makes sure his guests feel right at home at his place.

The unit was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The location is the best part of this rental. Easy walk to shopping, restaurants and historic Charleston. Some reviews have mentioned noise from King Street. We found it to be exceptionally quiet at night and the rest of the living space is well back from the street. No problem at all with noise. Wonderful to have free off street parking as well. The small bathroom and shower are very small but it worked just fine for us. The only concern for us was the step stairs up to the rented portion of the house. It rained while we were there and the stairs were quite treacherous for us older folks. Also difficult to tote large suitcases up to the unit. However we enjoyed the unit very much and John was exceptionally responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this rental.

John is a terrific host. He was very responsive needs, which changed, as my flights continued to be rearranged due to the weather. The place was both charming and comfortable and a great set up. The place has a wonderful feel and really put me in the "Charleston" mood. Fun fact - We took a walking tour of the area later in the day after checking in and we stopped in front of 77 Society and our guide pointed out that this was a typical home of the time and period with some specific historical aspects to it.

Had a great quick stay. Nice to have parking off street for my car. Walkable to Meeting and King streets where most of the action is. Super quiet in the place and super clean when we arrived. Would definitely recommend!

Outstanding location and descent price. Beautiful home and all is in great shape. Beware of slick outdoor stairs (2 flights) in rain (was difficult for elderly guests). Some beds were a little lumpy. Know that both smallish bathrooms are downstairs and have not been recently renovated even though two of the three bedrooms are upstairs (not a big problem but be aware). Also, no exceptions on 10 am check out so plan accordingly. But the antiques and the porch are wonderful and the location cannot be beat. Parking is tight but so great to have a free spot so close in. Wonderful choice for beautiful Charleston in terms of location and quaint charm. A few negatives noted here and it is fully priced, but I would still highly recommend as a great spot. Definitely consider for your stay in this great city.
